By sending up our prayers to God Almighty for his blessing, I warmly welcome the event of 18th Asean Armies Rifle Meet 2008 which is held in Manila, Philippines. In this very special moment, I would like to offer my sincere thanks for the invitation and the readiness of the Philippine Army to host the prestigious Asean Armies Rifle Meet.

I hope that this event can be used as a good medium in escalating the quality of professionalism and comradeship which have been glued considerably. In addition to become a means of skill and marksmanship competition among soldiers of Asean Armies in particular and between Asean countries in general.

For that reason, I would like to encourage all participants to develop high level of sportivity in the competition since it is the characteristic of modern and advanced human beings who are ready for global changing. Once again, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Philippine Army for its hard working and seriousness in preparing the whole programs, in return, making the Meet runs nicely, safely and smoothly.

Finally, to all soldiers from Asean Armies, I wish you Good Luck in the competition. May the God Almighty bless us in our efforts to carry out our professional duties and dedications as the beloved soldiers of our people and nations.
