The 10th Forward Service Support Unit, ASCOM, PA was activated pursuant to General Orders Number 93, GHQ, AFP dated 10 January 1992. The unit was then previously organic and operationally controlled by the AFP Logistics Command (AFP LOGCOM) and was formerly named the 10th Military Support Point. The location of its Headquarters as well as the Ammo Magazine complex were co-located at Hqs 4ID, PA, Camp Edilberto Evangelista, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.

On 01 February 1992, civilian employees assigned with then 10th MSP including the equipment, facilities and current stocks were turned over to the Philippine Army. Enlisted personnel belonging to other major branch of service was reassigned to their respective major services while army enlisted personnel were retained to compose the new Army Unit that was renamed the 10th Forward Service Support Unit, Army Support Command, Philippine Army.

Since its activation, 10th FSSU, ASCOM, PA became the backbone of combat service operations in northern and central Mindanao. Its excellent logistics operation support to its Supported Units was recognized by Higher Headquarters and was awarded as the Best Maintenance Unit AFP Wide by the CSAFP on 21 Dec 1998 and as the Best Forward Service Support Unit, Army Support Command for CY 1998.

Presently, 10FSSU, ASCOM, PA do not rest on its past glory, it was recently awarded a Certificate of Recognition by The Inspector General Philippine Army on 17 December 2011 for commendable Annual General Inspection preparations, comprehensive and complete briefing presentation, accurate records and timely submission of all the requirements prescribed by the Annual General Inspection Team, Philippine Army during the conduct of the Annual General Inspection of 4th Infantry (DIAMOND) Division, PA.
