KBP COMPLETED PROJECT

imgThe primary mission of Army Engineers is to provide general engineer support to Philippine Army units. It is also mandated to provide its expertise in delivering the basic infrastructure needs for the less fortunate countrymen especially in the remotest barangay areas to uplift their standard of living. The projects under the “Kalayaan Barangay Program of the government complemented by other CMO projects that are being undertaken by this unit have pave the way for a closer and better relationship with the people we serve. The completed projects reflect our commitment as an effective to all out force towards total peace.

Just recently , LTC EDUARDO L LEONIDA CE (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, 564ECB, 51EBde, PA stationed at Camp Eldridge, Los Banos, Laguna coordinated with the Office of the Provincial Governor, Province of Laguna for the formal turn-over of completed KBP Projects undertaken by this unit for the province of Laguna to Gov Teresita S Lazaro.

DND Secretary Gilberto C Teodoro Jr was the Guest of Honor and Speaker for the symbolic turn-over of completed KBP Projects on 18 February 2009 held at Laguna Cultural Center, Provincial Capitol Compound, Sta Cruz, Laguna. The said activity was also attended by several stakeholders, from the Local Government Units of Laguna, other units of the, AFP led by AFPNDSC, Commander LTGEN JAIME B BUENAFLOR and the PNP Provincial and Regional Offices

imgThe Civil Military Operations of the 51EBde complemented the turn-over Medical Team of 51EBde, PA led by MAJ JANE N CORRALDE (MC) PA with four (4) Medical Staff and the Dental Team CPT JOSE MANUEL L BONNEVIE DS (PA) with five (5) dental staff as part of its Civil Affairs campaign with the activity. Together they established MEDCAP at the engagement area. On the same day, LTC JUAN A CALATRAVA JR (CE) GSC, Brigade CMO Officer, in coordination with 8th Civil Relations Group, AFP Civil Relations Service conducted film showing and distribution of magazine as part of psyops campaign in relation with our internal security operations within the area of coverage.

The Medical/Dental team provided free health assistance, medical consultation/check-up, distributed free medicines, dental services, tooth extraction, and dental examinations benefiting One Hundred Sixty (168) patients for medical patients and Sixty Nine (69) for dental patients with a total of Two Hundred Thirty Seven (237) indigents patients from different barangays of the province of Laguna

Laguna Governor Teresita “Ningning” S Lazaro acknowledged the fact that the Province of Laguna received the most number of KBP projects and she noted the impact of providing school facilities for the youth. As a whole, the KBP Projects greatly contributed to its much needed socio-economic development program particularly in the country side. The governor also expressed her gratitude towards the Armed forces of the Philippines in delivering out the essential services. Likewise she also acknowledged the Philippine Army’s great effort and sustained contribution not only in security concerns, but also in health services, stressing on the significant presence of soldier health personnel working along with civilian health workers and volunteers.

She also emphasized the campaign of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in eliminating insurgency, especially its sincere help and support to the countryside, by providing water facilities, school buildings, and Farm to market Roads in the rural areas, wherein, the province of Laguna has received the biggest bulk of the KBP funded projects in the Southern Tagalog region.
