BRIGADA ESKWELA 2010

The 564ECB, 51E known as “The Southern Tagalog Builders” has participated in the DepED annual activity, the Brigada Eskwela 2010, being held nationwide before the opening of classes this school year 2010. The scope of the activity is to do cleaning and preparations activities making it presentable and clean for the students in preparation for the school opening.

The Headquarters Battalion has sent in a 12- man team to Los Banos National High School and San Antonio Elementary School all, of Los Banos, Laguna to respond to the call. The soldiers together with the school faculty, Parent Teachers Association (PTA) members and some students cleaned the surroundings of the school, repaired broken desks, chairs and tables, landscaped the school ground, and did some repainting works and even gardening.

The gesture of the soldiers in doing the job impressed a lot of teachers and students especially the local populace around the school that some parents even brought in water and some food for the participants to show their support to the activity.

Los Baņos National High, which has a high population rate of high school students, benefited mostly from the soldier’s work effort in face lifting the school. A total of 120 broken chairs and tables were repaired and the school bleachers and walls for the covered court was painted in less than 24 hours time.

Such job was so impressing that the school officers has asked for the troops to extend beyond the working hours to finish the job.

As a gesture of valuable support given to the schools, both schools awarded the unit and the participants a certificate of recognition for their valuable support rendered for the successful of the BRIGADA ESKWELA 2010.
