BGEN FELIZARDO A SIMOY AFP


BRIGADIER GENERAL FELIZARDO A SIMOY AFP is the 16th Brigade commander of the 51st Brigade, Philippine Army. He assumed command of the premier Engineer Brigade on 13 March 2008 after his stint as Commander of the 54th Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army. GENERAL SIMOY was born in Iloilo City on 26 February 1955. He is member of PMA “MASIKAP” Class-77. GENERAL SIMOY is happily married to Mrs Bonnie Ann T Simoy and they were blessed with three (3) daughters and one (1) son namely: Ma Vanessa, Melissa Lynn, Anne Fliza, Jesus Anecito III. He is an Alumnus of Xavier University and University of Mindanao. He began his career with Headquarters, 52nd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army serving as Cadre Commander, He also became the Commanding Officer of Bravo Company (“B” Coy), 544 Engineer Construction Battalion, 52nd Engineer Brigade, PA. At a later time became the Chief of Operations of Military Intelligence Group (MIG) 11, ISAFP in Mindanao and subsequently became the Assistant Group Commander at the same time the Operation Officer of MIG 10, ISAFP. BGEN SIMOY likewise became the Chief of Armed Forces of the Philippines Housing Administration (AFPHA), General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines. Before he was assigned with 522 Engineer Construction Battalion, 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army as Commanding Officer, he served as Defense and AFP Attache in Malaysia then became the Deputy Commander of Headquarters Headquarter Support Group, PA and the Chief of Army Real Estate Office, Philippine Army. He finished various military courses and seminars in local and abroad. To mention some are as follows: Scout Ranger Course at SRTC, FSRR, Engineer Basic Course at 52EBde, PA, Philippine Army Staff Officers Course at ATG, 52EBde, PA, Intelligence Officer Course at SITS, ISAFP, Special Intelligence Operation Course at 1st Infantry Regiment Royal British Army (SAS), SOUTHAMPTON, England Intelligence Officer Advance Course at SITS, ISAFP, Engineer Officer Advance Course at FT. Leonard Wood Missouri. USA and Command & General Staff Course at TRADOC, PA, Seminar on Communist Party of the Philippines at International Research Center, Singapore. Aside from these, he studied Condominium Construction and Infrastructure Development in Stockholm, Sweden. He also served as Guest Speaker and Lecturer at the Defense Institute International Legal Studies in Newport, Rhode Island, USA. His awards and decorations include several Distinguish Service Star, Military Merit Medal, Bronze Cross Medal, Military Commendation Medal, Long Service Medal, Anti-Dissidence Campaign Medal & Ribbon, Luzon and Mindanao Campaign Medal & Ribbon and the Combat Commander “Kagitingan” Badge. Also, a recipient of numerous Letter of Commendation and Certificate of Appreciation.
