THE “GREASY” JOBS

imgThe Engineer Equipment Maintenance Company is the “backbone” of the Engineer Maintenance and Support Battalion, 51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army since it provides all the maintenance requirement of the Brigade’s organic MEEE and MEOE.

This company was established with the birth of the Engineer Maintenance and Support Battalion in 1988 for the purpose of having an organized group of personnel with expertise in maintenance and troubleshooting of the organic equipment of the brigade. It is composed of soldiers who are highly trained mechanics, welders and equipment technicians. The preservation of these expertise is always in consonance with the training as well as the hands-on exposures on personnel who are assigned in this unit. In the absence of technological advancement for mechanical assets, the maintenance company was able to preserve brigade’s remaining engineer assets. During the pursuit of the mission, these men gain experiences on how to deal with the technical problems of every equipment and develops ingenuity to institute repairs and at the same time develops knowledge and expedient skills.

At present, the company handles equipment preservations such as the wet cell charging/making shop and equipment repainting operations. The company is also involved in the mobile maintenance team that aims to troubleshoot equipments in operating areas.

These are the works of the maintenance company. As we smell dust, paint, and dirty oils, we finish the tasks without compromising the standards, because “greasy jobs” are our primary mission.
