Computers and technologies are fast advancing and fast changing nowadays that the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for CEIS, G6 has strengthen its dedication for active CEIS capabilities and services particularly on computer networks connectivity, integrated database/web pages maintenance and comprehensive paperless office information usage. Thus, created and developed the 51ST ENGINEER BRIGADE Website ( WWW.Army.mil.ph/New_PA_Site) that is linked with Army site will serve as a common communication platform among Engineer units and offices for relevant, accessible and equally important managerial plan, important information, necessary policies as well as other services. Moreover, articles from line units and offices, are being sent via internet allowing OG6 to perform significant undertakings on network management activities and services specifically on Local Area Network (LAN) connections and restorations, configured PCs and network cabling installations connected to offices and units. E-mail addresses have been created purposely for electronic interchanges of information and data allowing decision-making and policy formulation process to be technology driven. OG6 has also diagnosed and restored defective computer hardware’s, recommended the updating of other computer soft wares, lost data were recovered and helped protect data on office computers. Moreover, OG6 provided support and presentation to workforce on the use of Paperless Communication System and the installation of Text Messaging System. The unit has also configured workstations and provided assistance to personnel whereby messages, announcements, advisories, correspondence and all forms of documentations were converted into digital form to allow interactions, transmissions and total sharing of information in the quick time possible. OG6 was also able to establish the Video Conferencing by utilizing Skype/Smartbro. Our website allows personnel to interact with computers to achieve objectives at any time and any location with just a push of a button, and eliminates unnecessary physical travel to line units by simply sitting behind desks. Improved reports and record keeping can be noted through computerization, and information/ forms can be easily accessed, equaling quicker processing time.
