BICOL BUILDERS SUPPORTS FORMER REBELS

Legaspi City – 30 Former Rebels (FRs) from the province of Albay forming into a cooperative dubbed as “Mayon Hollow Blocks and Aggregates Supply”. The project was initiated by 2nd Infantry Battalion of 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army under the government Social Integration Program (SIP). The recognized cooperative was simultaneously blessed and launch on May 1, 2010 at Barangay Padang, Legaspi City attended by the LGUs, NGOs, local PNP and military unit commanders in the region. These FRs groups had voluntarily and peacefully return to the fold of the law and rejoin the mainstream of our society to become productive citizens.


Similarly, the 565th Engineer Construction Battalion of the 51st Engineer Brigade, PA headed by its Battalion Commander, Ltc Aguinaldo I Ordoņez CE (GSC) PA have donated Four (4) units of CHB molders, and impart technical knowledge in concert with his men for the skills and training to the FRs group in Hollow Blocks making. Noteworthy, the CHB productions of the FRs Cooperative was primarily supplied and procured by the army engineer construction unit which at present undertaking various construction projects in the area.

This active involvement of 565th Engineer Construction Battalion element displayed the magnitude and urgency of a military duty showing for energetic interest by working harmoniously with their stakeholders. With all this, they become an effective tool in demonstrating the government’s effort in serving the people particularly in Bicol region.
