51E PARTICIPATES IN BRIGADA ESKWELA

The National Schools Maintenance Week, otherwise known as Brigada Eskwela, is a nationwide effort to involve the community stakeholders in the minor repair and maintenance of their public school buildings in order to get theme ready for the opening of classes. This Brigada Eskwela project has become a major part of the program of each school division and largely explains the decrease in school opening problems nationwide.
The 51st Engineer Brigade, PA as a community stakeholder, participated in the nationwide conduct of Brigada Eskwela 2010 in coordination with the local school officials of selected schools within the brigade area of operation. On 25-30 May 2010, military personnel of HHCo and Engineer Maintenance Support Battalion conducted the construction of wooden gate at Brgy Libis Elementary School, Libis, Quezon City.
Upon receipt of message that were disseminated, personnel of 514ECB, 51E, PA stationed at Sitio Palico, Brgy Bilaran, Nasugbu, Batangas immediately coordinated with the faculty members of Nasugbu West Central School and `conducted cleaning of school facilities and minor repair of chairs from 24 to 29 May 2010.
The 564ECB, 51E, PA, known as Southern Tagalog Builders, also participated in said activity. On 26 to 27 May 2010, they repainted the covered court; repaired 120 chairs; entrance porch and cleaned the premises of Los Baņos Elementary School, Los Baņos, Laguna. They also assisted in the transfer of school properties (books, tables and chairs) from one room to another at San Antonio Elementary School, Los Baņos, Laguna.
The Bicol Builders of 565ECB, 51E, PA also shared their efforts in this undertaking by doing improvement of playground facilities and clean-up drive of premises at Buluang Elementary School in Brgy Buluang, Baao, Camarines Sur from 24 to 26 May 2010.
These activities have constantly created better working relationship between the government and civilian sector particularly parents, teachers and students in the countryside. With these accomplishments, the brigade has once again successfully gained the people’s faith towards the AFP in particular and the national government in general.
