SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Early on, the brigade as a whole has a series of accomplishments and these includes the construction of Manila North diversion road; concreting of Cotabato highway; Dugo-San Vicente national road; Rizal-Lasam-Allacapan road projects in Cagayan; Manila south road; construction of Epifanio delos Santos Avenue from Ortigas to South Crame; Pilot Irrigation system for Laguna Lake Development Authority; the Export Processing Zone in Mariveles, Bataan; construction of Picardo airport in Samar; Maharlika Villages in Taguig; concreting of 84 kms Dalton Pass along Cagayan Valley; construction of Mt Salakot roadnet in Puerto Princesa City; Palawan construction of Lopez-Catanauan road in Quezon; clearing operations in provinces of Pampanga, Tarlac; Bataan and Zambales affected by Mt Pinatubo eruption; construction of houses for different resettlement centers for Pinatubo victims at Pampanga; rehabilitation of Armenia dike in Tarlac; construction of Sambahayan projects in Tondo; construction of Sta Maria-Odiongan road in Romblon; rehabilitation of Nangka-Tambangan road in Marinduque; construction of Kalayaan sa Barangay Program projects such as farm to market roads; electrification; school buildings; water system projects and many others.
The
51st Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army is ever committed in supporting the implementation of the government’s development program. It will remain blazing the frontiers for the construction of necessary infrastructures for the delivery of much needed services, especially in remote and far-flung areas. And it will always perform its roles with a great zeal of efficiency and professionalism-for this is very reason of its existence of which the brigade was conferred the “ASEAN Engineer Award” during the 20th ASEAN Federation of Engineer Organization Conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 4 September 2002, the first of its kind in the history of the AFP.
