PROFILE OF BRIGADE COMMANDER


COLONEL MICHAELO T SALVALEON, graduated from the Philippine Military Academy and was subsequently commissioned as Second Lieutenant in 21 February 1979. He was born on 15 November 1956 at Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Aside from the Philippine Military Academy, among the Military schoolings that molded his competency in the Armed Forces of the Philippines are: Basic Ranger Course; Engineer Officer Basic Course; PA Staff Officers Course, where he ranked #1 in the class; Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course; Engineer Officer Advance Course at US Army Engineer School; Basic Micro Computer Operation Course; Basic Military Operation Course; Computer Automation Officer; Command General Staff Course and Joint and Combined Staff Officers Course.

The significant assignments he held in the Philippine Army since he was commissioned into the Armed Forces of the Philippines Regular Force includes: Tactical Officer of Headquarters 52EBde,PA, Escort Officer, PSC; Executive Officer Bravo Co, 544ECB,52EBde;Disbursing Officer, 542ECB;Course Director, TES TC PA;, Chief, Command,OJ1,GHQ;Chief, Admin Div,OJ1,GHQ AFP ;Asst Operation Officer, OTCE,GHQ AFP; Command Engineer,TC,PA, Chief,CRPM BR,ACE,PA; Asst Chief of Staff,G3, 53EBde,PA,Commanding Officer, 543 ECB,53EBde,PA;Deputy Commander, TG Sumuroy, 53EBde,PA; Commanding Officer, ESBn,53EBde,PA and presently the Commander of 55EBde, PA.

In recognition of his achievements, COLONEL SALVALEON received various awards and decorations. These includes the; Martial Law Citation Badge; Wounded Personnel Medal; February 86 Revolution Ribbon, AFP Home Defense badge; Mindanao Campaign Ribbon; PRPU Citation Badge; Disaster Relief and Rehab Opn RBN, CBT Comdr “K” Badge, Gawad sa Kaunlaran; People Power II Ribbon. He had also received commendations and honors from the civilian sectors.

He was married to Mrs. Leah Salvaleon, from Iligan City on 23 September 1982 and blessed with two daughters namely Sarah and Dianne Licaya, and son Levi Michael Salvaleon.
