A nother fruitful year of hardwork and dedication is now approaching to an end, despite the test of time the Brigade was able to perform its mandated task as the forefront of peace and development in western Minadanao area , with our various projects in National Development particularly in Sulu and Basilan Province. We were able to bring government services to conflict affected areas, thus providing people living in the area a decent schools for their children, a well accessible all weather road to pass by in order to bring their product in the market, and a decent job to our less fortunate Muslim brothers in the area.

For the Base development Projects, the Brigade was able to provide support to other line units specifically the 1 st Infantry Division, wherein several projects were constructed in order to provide a better and decent services to our soldiers, dependents and civilians in the area. Another significant project is the ongoing construction of the Ten (10) Door apartment located at Camp Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga City,Kuta Dau, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur and Camp Sang – AN, Pulacan Zamboanga Del Sur. This project will fill up the scarcity of quarters of our soldiers and their family who are living in the area. Also, theere is an ongoing construction of KHTB hospital in Jolo, Sulu under WESMINCOM that will cater our wounded combatants in combat zones of Sulu Province.

The Brigade had also conducted pre- development project such as Segregation and Topographic Survey in areas of Camp Sang – AN, located at Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Norte and Camp Orayao, located at Plaridel, Misamis Occidental where five (5) and Ten (10) Hectares of land was segregated respectively. Its purpose is to provide low cost housing to our soldiers so called as the “Kalinga sa Kawal Housing Project”.

Despite of the vast coverage of Area of Operation with just two (2) Engineer Construction Battalions and One (1) Engineer Maintenance Support Battalion, still we were able to accomplish the mandated task. Although recently, there was a slow development during the implementation of some other projects such as changes and modification underscores trivial delay but were still managed to pursue. The Brigade also encompases the idea of considerations in terms of priorities and commitment. A thing that the unit's accomplishment is manifested by focusing on leadership, discipline and commiment.

With the paradigm shift in our Internal Security Operation (ISO) in which peace and development is given an emphasis in order to win the elusive peace we are longing for, the Brigade being part of peace and development effort of our government will continuously uphold its tradition as the peace builder in Western Mindanao Area.
