Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal - The 2nd Infantry (Jungle Fighter) Division, Philippine Army officially installed MGEN
ROMULO M BAMBAO AFP as its 32nd Commander in a simple yet meaningful ceremony on 23 August 2011 in the parade ground of Camp Capinpin relieving BGEN NESTOR A AÑONUEVO AFP as
the Acting Commander. LTGEN ARTURO B ORTIZ AFP, the Commanding General of Philippine Army as the presiding officer, uttered some remarkable accomplishment of MGEN BAMBAO
during the latter's stint as former member of the 2ID. He said he is confident that the incoming commander is competent and will perform to the best of his expertise just
like the past commanders.
The simple ceremony was highlighted with the signing of the relinquishment and the assumption order of the incoming and the outgoing commanders.
In his short message BGEN ANONUEVO emphasized that he will only shed off in his shoulders the additional duty as Acting Commander but will keep his primary task as Assistant Division Commander
in support to his new commander. After which, was the ceremonial hand-over of the Command Symbol by the presiding officer. On the other hand, in his acceptance speech, MGEN BAMBAO clearly
stressed that his thrust is to continue what the previous leadership has started in support to AFP IPSP "Bayanihan" campaign.
The parading troops headed by COL JOHNNY MACANAS INF (GSC) PA, the Deputy Brigade Commander of 203rd Infantry, exhibited a very nice and commendable
parade despite the heavy rains that poured during the pass-in-review.
Other guests were Commanders from other Service Units, 2ID Line Unit Commanders to include 730th and 740th PAF Combat Group Commanders, Hon Frisco San Juan,
Vice Governor Rizal Province, Hon Rafael (Lito) A Tanjuatco, Mayor, Tanay, Rizal, Sampaloc Brgy Chairman Alvin Belza and some representatives from Philippine National Police.
Despite of the heavy rains that poured during the said ceremony, the ceremony ended at about 3:40 pm by the pass and review of the proud parading troops of
