GOVERNMENT FORCES FOUND VICTIMS REMAINS OF PLANE CRASH IN CAGAYAN

Camp Melchor F dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela - Government Forces composed of Army troops and PNP Baggao, Cagayan have already found the remains of the victims of the CHEMTRAD plane that crash last April 2, 2009 in Mt Alias Dies, Sierra Madre Range located at the boundary of Pena Blanca and Baggao both in Cagayan Province at about 11:30 in the morning of April 19, this year.

According to the report, the rescue team is part of the joint task group created by the Regional Disaster Coordinating Council Chairman Police Chief Superintendent Roberto M Damian. The said joint task force belongs to the 17th Infantry Battalion led by 2LT REYNALDO ZAMORA and the PNP headed by SPO3 Gacias.

The rescue team, however, could not confirm the identities of the plane crash victims due to the stink odor. They are now making landing zone near the crash site to deliver the necessary materials like gas mask and other chemicals to be used for the total retrieval of the remains which will be done tomorrow, April 20.

On board of the ill-fated plane were identified as Cpt Tomas Yanez, his Co-pilot Cpt Reiner Ruiz and their passengers Maconacon Councilor Abelardo Baggay, retiring Senior Police Officer 2, Rolly Castanos, also of Maconacon, Brgy Chairman Joel Basilio of Sapinit, Divilacan Town; James Bakilan of the Divilacan local government and Celestino Salacup, driver of Maconacon Mayor Francisco Talosig.
