ARMY TROOPS DISCOVER ANOTHER NPA CACHE IN ABRA
Camp Melchor F dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela - Army Troops belonging to
50th Infantry Battalion led by 1Lt Cyriel G Nambatac and 53rd Military
Intelligence Company discovered armed cache while conducting combat patrol
at Sitio Pananuman, Brgy Tubtuba, Tubo, Abra at 11:30 in the morning of June 12, this year.
A report reaching the office of Maj Gen Nestor Z Ochoa, Commander of the
Army’s 5th Infantry Division, by Col Essel C Soriano, Commanding Officer of
503rd Infantry Brigade disclosed that the operating troops discovered an
estimated seven (7) sacks of assorted communists terrorists paraphernalia
inside a cache containing the following items: Seven (7) pairs Combat Boots;
Six (6) set of PNP camouflage (Blue) garments; twelve (12) sets Military BDA
uniform and three (3) BDA Upper; three (3) Back Packs; assorted personal belongings;
six (6) pcs frame with picture of Gen Palparan and Gen Esperon,
Secretary Gonzales, General Calderon, Mayor Mailed Molina and voluminous party
level documents.
Maj Gen Ochoa said that this is the second successful discovery of NPA cache in
he area by the army troops. According to him, the recovered items particularly the
PNP and Military uniforms which indicate that the communist terrorists will use
them as camouflage in pursuing their terroristic activities/operation no only
against the government forces but also the innocent people who are the primary victims
of their terroristic acts.
He further said that this series of NPA setbacks in the area is the result of the
peoples support to the government/AFP Campaign in its insurgency operation.
