Government Forces Apprehended Four (4) NPA Leaders in Isabela

Camp Melchor F dela Cruz, Upi, Gamu, Isabela - Joint elements of 52nd Division Reconnaissance Company, 502nd Infantry Brigade, 52nd Military Intelligence Company, 2nd Intelligence Security Unit, Military Intelligence Group 2, Isabela Police Provincial Office and San Mariano PNP apprehended four (4) high ranking communist terrorists during the conduct of intelligence driven operation at the vicinity of Sitio Dibigin, Barangay Minanga, San Mariano, Isabela at about 5:00 o'clock this morning of February 7, this year.

In a report sent to BGEN ROMMEL A GOMEZ, Commander of the Army's 5th Infantry Division, by COL ARNULFO J MARCOS, Commanding Officer of 502ND Infantry Brigade, disclosed the identities of the apprehended communist terrorists as MICHAEL ERAŅA, AKA POKTONG, Central Front Secretary and Commanding Officer of Platoon Uno (Code Name: REMO), MARIO AGUSTIN, AKA AKI, member "Kalihim of Central Front, Commanding Officer of Platoon Dos (Code Name: ARNEL) and Vice Commanding Officer of Central Front, RAFFY VALENCIA, AKA BUTCH/DONALD, Vice Commanding Officer of Platoon Uno (Code Name: REMO) and JUNIOR SORIA, AKA MANNY, Medical Officer Platoon Arnel.

The report also revealed that the government security forces recovered the following in the possession of the apprehended NPA leaders: one (1) Cal .45 pistol, five (5) fragmentation grenades, explosives and wirings, four (4) packs dried marijuana in brick form, assorted goods, CT personal belongings and subversive documents of high intelligence value.

BGEN GOMEZ said that the successful conduct of intelligence driven operation by the government security forces which resulted to the apprehension of four (4) high ranking NPA leaders is a great debacle to the Communist Terrorist Movement. With this, he said, it will create a leadership crisis in the underground movement that will affect the morale of its member's will to fight.
