7ID masses troops to ensure people’s safety during Barangay and SK Election
Fort Ramon Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija – At least 400 troops from 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army under the leadership of MGEN IRINEO C ESPINO, AFP will be deployed to various precincts under its AOR to ensure that all security arrangements are set for the Barangay and SK Election today, October 25, 2010. 7ID’s Area of Responsibility consists of nine (9) Provinces numbering to a total of 180 voting precincts.
Prior to deployment, the Command conducted mustering of troops to make sure that all personnel are accounted for until the day of the election period is over. Troop Information and Education were also carried out by no less than the Commander, 7ID himself wherein he reminded all the troops on their roles and participation to facilitate a peaceful transition of local leadership. Also, they were advised to adhere with the guidelines posed by the COMELEC and to work always in partnership with the PNP and COMELEC counterparts all election – related undertakings.
Forces were also deployed in critical areas being threatened by the NPA rebels to address the security requirements and to smooth the progress of electoral course thereat.

We will always remain true to our mandate- to protect the right of suffrage of every Filipino, uphold the sanctity of the ballot, respect human rights and maintain the AFP’s professionalism and non-partisanship. What we are here for is to protect the voice of the people. The 7ID fully commits itself in assisting the COMELEC and the PNP towards the conduct of a credible electoral process.
