902nd Infantry Brigade has New Commander

     Colonel Nestor Reyno Sadiarin 0-7444 FA (GSC) PA was installed as the new Commanding Officer of the 902nd Brigade based at Camp Busig-on, Tulay na Lupa, Labo, Camarines Norte effective 22 March 2006. The simple Change of Command Ceremony was presided by Major General Ricardo G Nobleza AFP, CG-9ID, PA.

    He replaced Brigadier General Arnulfo A Ylanan AFP, who was designated as the new Assistant Division Commander of the 9th Infantry (SPEAR) Division vice Brigadier General Armando L Cunanan AFP, who in turn, was reassigned at the General Headquarters, Armed Forces of the Philippines in Camp Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

    The new Brigade Commander is a graduate of PMA class of 1977. He was born in Manila but has completed his elementary and secondary education at Paoay Central Elementary School and Ilocos Norte National High School, respectively. He was a student in UP, Diliman, Quezon City before he joined the Cadet Corps, AFP.

    He was always at the top 5 in most of the military schoolings he attended including the FA Officers Basic, Supply Management, VIP Security and Pre-Command Course for Battalion Commander. He took his FA Officer Advance course in US Army Field Artillery School in 1989 and the Command and General Staff Course in Fuak, Germany.

    Colonel Sadiarin held the positions of a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and as Company Commander. He commanded the 24th Infantry Battalion, 7ID, PA from 1993 to 1995. He also held various staff positions such as Operations, Intelligence, Administrative, and Security Officer. Likewise, he was designated as the Group Commander of 6th ATG, 6ID, PA and Task Force Commander of 601st Brigade in Central Mindanao and of 802nd in Leyte where he supervised the disaster relief assistance in Ginsaugon-Leyte landslide just recently.

   The long list of awards and decorations he received include two Wounded Personal Medals and numerous MCM, MMM, BCM, DSS and Badges and Letter of Commendations.

   The new Brigade Commander is always supported by Madam Ligaya Sadiarin together with their daughter- Elizabeth and son- Frederick Nestor.

    During his assumption message, Colonel Sadiarin emphasized team work as the key in addressing the internal security problem in his AOR- Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur provinces. He derived such cue from his experiences in Ginsaugon, Leyte where collective and concerted efforts and support were exerted and extended by the various LGUs, LGAs, NGOs, POs, AFP and PNP, not to mention, the pouring of assistance from other foreign countries.(PIO)
