Disposal of Unserviceable Ammunitions – this is an inherent task of every ASCOM operating unit like the FSSU’s, LSG and EODBn. Suspended, unserviceable or recovered ammunitions other wise known as vintage bombs must be disposed by detonation to declog ammunition warehouses and to prevent such bombs that can be used as improvised explosive device (IED) when such ordnance item land in the hands of the enemies.

Philippine Army Wellness Center or Army Gym – Operated and maintained by SSU, the facility is equipped with indoor basketball court, eight badminton court, a boxing ring, weights room or PRT, a SPA and an Olympic size swimming pool. This is where army personnel, their dependents and authorized civilians do their sports activities and chores of their choice and to relax and unwind. It has also a very spacious picnic area adjacent to the swimming pool.

The Army General Hospital. This 200 bed capacity hospital caters not mainly for army personnel but also dependents. Its interiors were recently renovated and fully refurbished with a more presentable ambiance and a food court where in patients and visitors can dine comfortably and with a reasonable and comparative price. It also has an in house dental clinic (1354 DC) that helps complete medical examination undertakings for routinary and periodic physical examination and other health services to promote physical well being of army personnel.

Grave Services Unit or GSU. This provides mortuarial and funeral services to deceased military personnel and other authorized civilians like dignitaries and national artists. Popularly known as the Libingan ng Mga Bayani, this facility not only provide a free and decent graves for departed heroes but it also assists in the processing of death benefit claims of beneficiaries.

The Petron Gas Station. Manned and operated by Supply Battalion, LSG, ASCOM, this fuel facility serve as the main Petroleum, Oil and Lubricants (POL) dump of the Philippine Army that caters to the fuel requirement of HPA offices and post units inside Fort Bonifacio. The newly renovated gas station is located along Lawton Avenue.

ASCOM UNITS:

HISTORY

This command started from a company-size unit, the Supply and Transportation Company in the 1960's which slowly evolved into a bigger unit known as the Supply, Transportation and Maintenance Battalion on 16 April 1971. On 16 December 1975, the Supply, Transportation and Maintenance Battalion was upgraded to Army Support Command due to the mounting security problems in Central and Southwestern Mindanao. The upgrading included the integration of all service support units, Army General Hospital and the Division Administrative Control Centers (DACC).

In February 1986, ASCOM was downsized to Service Support Brigade (SSBde) and on 23 May 1994, it was again upgraded to Service Support Command and eventually renamed as Army Support Command in 1997.

On 01 April 2005, ASCOM absorbed six units and facilities of the former AFP Logistics Command. All these developments were made in order to efficiently and effectively address the attainment of the command's mission.
