COL IBARRA P GUITIERREZ, became the 11th Commander, ARMY RESERVE COMMAND, on October 16, 2004.

         COL GUITIERREZ graduated from the University of the East in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and successfully finished his LLB in the same academic institution in 1987. He took his Graduate Studies at Philippine Christian University with a degree of Master in Management, a Professional Managers Program from Ateneo De Manila University and a Diplomate in Agribusiness Management. He was called to Active Duty as Second Lieutenant on 19 December 1972 as a direct commission. His military education includes completion of the Infantry Offr Basic Course, DCC CTW JWMOC-Ranger, Intel Platoon Opns Course, Mil Intel Collection Course, Narcotics Investigation Course, PA Officer Senior Course, Supply & Service Mgmt Offr Course, Pre-Comd Course for Bn Comdrs and Command & Gen Staff Course.

         Prior to his present assignment, COL GUITIERREZ spent 31 years in a variety of command and staff assignments most recently serving as Group Commander of NCRRCDG and concurrently as Vice Commander of ARESCOM, PA.

         Early in his career, He was a Platoon Leader with C CO, 8IB, 4ID, Philippine Army. In the same unit from 1974 to 1975, he served both as Agent Officer and Psyops Officer and subsequently became the Executive Officer then Company Commander until 1977.
