      The shield is typically Filipino in shape evoking a deep sense of nationalism by adhering to the use of Sariling Atin and signifying protection against aggressor or threats against our republic. It is colored Army Green to show that the organization is organization is organic to the army.

      On top of the shield is a Golden Wheel representing national progress and the development of our country through the effective utilization of reservists, the Thirteen Spokes of the wheel stand for the regional subdivisions of the Philippines and the basis for the number of regional community defense groups of ARESCOM.

      Superimposed on the golden wheel is the Bamboo Torch representing the Education & Training of the Reservists Citizens.

      The Kampilan on top of the torch as a weapon is in the inverted position representing the Army's Citizen Force which is held in Reserve.
