Army personnel expressed their hopes of having a clean and credible elections by participating in the "AFP-PNP Protect the Votes Bike-a-Thon" conducted over the weekend. The event was spearheaded by the Philippine Navy and was participated in by members of the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, along with other civilian bike enthusiasts. Acting as the venue host, this event is one of the Philippine Army's efforts of working for their Advocacy for Credible Elections-one of the four ACEs of the Army for 2010.#

 More than 300 new Privates take their oaths as regular members of the AFP during the Enlistment Ceremony at the Philippine Army Headquarters over the weekend. These new soldiers shall be deployed to the different Army units nationwide. Most of them were already integrated to the newly-activated Multi-Role Force Battalion also known as Army Contingent for Emergency (ACE) during an Integration Rites that immediately followed the Enlistment Ceremony.

The activation is part of the efforts of the Philippine Army to further enhance its disaster response and relief operation capabilities to effectively respond to the needs of the people in times of disaster. Though the Multi-Role Force Battalion – Army Contingent for Emergency (ACE) acts as the primary unit of the Philippine Army in addressing Disaster Rescue and Relief Operation (DRRO) concerns, it is also capable of performing development and nation-building activities, and fighting threats to national development and stability, not just in Metro Manila but in other parts of the country as well.

 

Bracing for typhoon "Ramil" - The newly-activated Multi-Role Force Battalion, also known as the Army Continent for Emergency (ACE), displays its capabilities including several Army trucks, rubber boats, motorized boats, and other life-saving devices during its activation on October 17 at the Philippine Army Headquarters. The activation and mobilization of the Multi-Role Force Battalion is very timely since the country braces for another typhoon which is expected to hit the country this week.

The Philippine Army's K9 unit demonstrates how to detect Improvised Explosive Devices, locate missing persons, and retrieve cadavers of victims of calamities. The K9 Battalion is enhanced primarily to support the Army's Disaster Rescue and Relief Operations and its Anti-Terror campaign. Recently, it was responsible for the retrieval of five bodies following the landslide in Tadian, Mountain Province. These tracking dogs were also the same group that retrieved the body of the murdered US Peace Corps volunteer Julia Campbell in the same province. #

Men of the Philippine Army's Engineering Battalion offer immense help to Marikina by clearing the roads of mud, garbage, and debris brought about by the tropical depression "Ondoy." More than 1,500 Army soldiers are divided and deployed to different areas in Marikina, namely Nangka Balubad, Fortune San Miguel, Malanday City Hall , Market Area, Sto. Nino and Provident Village. Rehabilitation and relief operations are still underway on areas which are yet to recover from the havoc of "Ondoy."

Maj. Gen. Jorge Segovia, 2nd Infantry Division Commander consoles Sheryl Regua, widow of Cpl Adriano Regua as Army Chief Lt. Gen. Delfin N. Bangit lays the posthumous promotion to now Sgt. Adriano Regua in Tanay, Rizal yesterday, October 1. Sgt. Regua was one of the seven Army men who offered their lives while on rescue operations for the victims of the tropical depression "Ondoy." He is the detachment commander of his disaster response team deployed at Mabitac, Laguna that saved more than 200 lives. He died trying to rescue one of his men from being swept away by the rampaging flood.

More than 1,000 Army troopers, armed with cleaning paraphernalia led by no less than Army Chief LtGen Delfin N Bangit, flocked to Marikina City for a clean-up drive. This activity is part of the AFP clean-up campaign directed by the Chief of Staff Gen Victor S Ibrado, in coordination with the National Disaster Coordinating Council and local officials in the city.

 

Army troops clean the mudded streets and dispose garbage and other debris brought about by tropical depression "Ondoy" in Marikina City. This clean-up drive is aimed at restoring normalcy, safety and security in the city of Marikina.

Army Chief LtGen Delfin N Bangit visited the wake of 1Lt Dell Jhun C Evangelista who was killed in the encounter with the ASG bandits in Basilan last August 12. 1Lt Evangelista, who graduated as cum laude and no. 11 out of the 329 members of PMA Class 2006, was one of the officers who fought valiantly against the ASG bandits and helped recover the remains of Marine soldiers who were killed during the encounter. The August 12 encounter is a decisive and most significant engagement by the Philippine Army against the Abu Sayyaf which resulted to 20 Enemy Body Counts and recovery of 17 high-powered firearms, including five machine guns and two rocket-propelled grenade launchers

ACSOs will soon be replicated in all Infantry Divisions nationwide by Army Chief Lt. Gen. Delfin N. FORT Andres Bonifacio, Metro Manila - Secretary of National Defense Honorable Gilberto C. Teodoro Jr., graces the 6th Senior Leaders' Conference as the Keynote Speaker early morning today. He emphasized on three important points with which to address the country's military concerns: 1) Refocus on the armed group; 2) Develop target specific capability; and 3) Increase military presence in areas where there is an existence of armed movements. Seated beside him is the Army Chief Lt. Gen. Victor S. Ibrado.

Twelve newly promoted Brigadier Generals paid a courtesy call on the Army Chief Lt. Gen. Victor S. Ibrado on February 17, 2009 at the Headquarters Philippine Army camp in Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila. They were Brigadier Generals Felipe G. Tabas, Francisco B. Lanuza, Ricardo B. Butalid Jr., Emmanuel T. Bautista, William S. Esplana, Allan C. Bontuyan, Nicolas D. Ojeda, Felizardo A. Simoy, Pedro Ramon L. Sinajon Jr., Carlos E. Luces, Roberto L. Morales, and Renato A. David.

Sinisita ng nakatalagang Military Police sa Gate 1 ng Light Armor Division ang isang sundalo na hindi nakasuot ng "crash helmet" habang lulan ng kanyang motorsiklo. Ito ay isa sa mga minor offenses na nakalagay sa bagong "Delinquency Report System" ng Philippine Army.

 


The photos showed 4ID and 5th Civil Relations Unit personnel together with PAFCIFIC civilian volunteers and ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao's (NORMIN) Sagip Kapamilya repacking donated used clothing and foodstuffs. Army personnel had been assisting ABS-CBN's Sagip Kapamilya prepare relief goods and delivering the items to flood victims. The 4ID committed one 1 1/4 Ton KIA truck to ABS-CBN to help transport the relief goods to evacuation centers. This activity is expected to continue for a week.

ASEAN delegates rejoice as Pacquiao wins over Dela Hoya as
they watch the match in a free live telecast at the mess hall of Philippine Army's Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command (Tradoc). The delegates came all the way from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam to participate in the 18th ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet 2008 held here in the Philippines.
