1st Army Training Group

The 1st Army Training Group (1ATG) was created in 1976 under the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, Philippine Army. At that time, the Group was stationed at Fort Magsaysay with Lieutenant Colonel Arturo T. Enrile as the first commander.
In 1981, the 1ATG along with the 1st Division was relocated to Kugas, Patikul, Sulu in Mindanao. Later in 1985, the school was transferred to Malagutay, Zamboanga City but deactivated the following year.
On May 14, 1991 the 1ATG was reactivated pursuant to HPA GO No. 365 and remained under the operational control of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division. Both  units were moved to Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga Del Sur. However, the school was transferred to Romarate, Aurora, Zamboanga Del Sur on July 8, 1997 to have a better environment and wider training ground.
After almost four years, 1ATG moved back to Camp General Arturo T. Enrile in Malagutay, Zamboanga City on January 21, 2001. Eventually, the unit was absorbed by the Training and Doctrine Command, PA pursuant to GO No. 335, HPA effective June 1, 2002 and remains at the same location to this date.
