Effective 26
September 2005, the Fort Bonifacio
Telephone Exchange or BONTEX of the
Philippine Army will reconfigure its
existing PLDT analog trunklines into
digital trunklines. The change is
expected to improve the efficiency of
Army telephone service. The change will
also redound to savings in billing
payments by way of preventing the
unauthorized use of the PLDT trunklines.
Thetotal number of
the trunklines for incoming calls to
BONTEX is 30 and can be accessed by
dialing the new trunkline number
845-9555. The new scheme provides better
convenience to the public as they will
only have to remember one telephone
number:
845-9555. The total number for
outgoing calls from BONTEX is also 30
and can be accessed using the present
procedure.
In the event of
malfunctioning of the incoming digital
trunks, the public can dial the PLDT
trunkline numbers of other AFP telephone
exchanges in Metro Manila and request
the telephone operators of these
exchanges for connection to BONTEX
subscribers. The PLDT trunkline numbers
of the Metro Manila telephone exchanges
are as follows:
Camp Aguinaldo; Malacanang -
5641451
to 58 & 735-6201; Villamor Air Base -
8546701 & 8546722; and Fort Abad (HPN) -
5242061 to 69. BONTEX subscribers, on
the other hand, will need to be assisted
by the BONTEX operators in case the
outgoing trunklines become
unserviceable.
