The Doctrine Center facilitated the conduct of Doctrine Development Writer and Proponent Training at Tarlac State University Hotel, Tarlac City on 16-26 October 2017. The said training was fully supported by G8, PA and attended by the different Doctrine Action Officers/Project Team members of selected unit of the Philippine Army. This training program is designed to enhance the research and writing skills of our doctrine writers and proponents so that they can effectively write and develop the specific doctrine manuals assigned to them.
On the first day, the training was formally opened with COL LEOUEL A SANTOS, Head, RDDI, TRADOC, PA as keynote speaker during the opening ceremony. Then it was followed byan admin announcements and lectures given by the members of the Doctrine Center.
The succeeding days were spent with the TSU faculty members as lecturer/resource persons. Lectures include effective writing and speaking , research process, methods of research and documenting sources On the last two days of the training, the students were given time to apply what they have learned (i.e write or edit their Proponent Advice (PAD) and manual drafts). Also, the participants presented their outputs to the panel composed of subject matter Experts (SME) from TSU and Doctrine Center.
The training was formally closed with COL WILLIAM N GONZALES HPAG8, as keynote speaker. COL GONZALES congratulated and encouraged the participants to finish their manuals as soon as possible so that they can be used in training and in the field.
