PA Welcomes Newly-Promoted Army Generals

FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City – The Philippine Army welcomed last Thursday, May 10, 2018 its newly promoted general officers in a simple ceremony held in front of Headquarters, Philippine Army.

The newly promoted generals previously had an oath taking in Malacanang Palace which was presided by no less than the Commander-in-Chief, President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

The 26 newly promoted are comprised of one General in the person of General Carlito G. Galvez Jr, the newly installed AFP Chief of Staff who was not able to attend due to pressing commitments, two Lieutenant Generals, Paul T. Atal and Danilo G. Pamonag who heads the Central Command and Southern Luzon

Command respectively, and 9 Major Generals composed of Fernando T. Trinidad,
Gilbert I.Gapay, Glen O. Paje, Jesus A. MananquilJr,Roseller G. Murillo, Jose Antonio B. Motril, Danilo Chad D. Isleta, Perfecto M. RimandoJr, and Gener P. Del Rosario. While the 14 Brigadier Generals were Filemon D. MamarilJr, Byron H. Calimag, Alden Juan C. Masagca, Eliezer L. Losanes, Leopoldo A. ImbangJr, Henry A. Robinson Jr, Oliver R. Artuz, Agane C. Adriatico, Reynaldo M. Aquino, Ernesto C. Torres Jr, Luis Vincent A. Tacderas, Roberto T. Ancan, Joselito R. Serrano, and Erwin Bernard L. Neri.

The reception ceremony was presided by Major General Robert M. Arevalo, the Vice Commanding General in behalf of the Commanding General, Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista.

The ceremony was highlighted by the donning of rank insignia to the newly promoted before their respective families and HPA crowd. It is one of the finest traditions in the military that signifies the command’s confidence on their capabilities towards greater responsibilities in pursuit of the accomplishment of the commands mission and other significant endeavours.

“As we continue to face the multifarious emerging security challenges, may your stars serve as inspiration for you to do more and be of better instruments to be of service to our people and country. Further, let us radiate our strength together and serve as catalysts in bringing and achieving the Philippine Army’s dream of becoming a world-class Army that is a source of national pride,” said Maj. Gen. Arevalo in his message.#
