FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Army Signal Regiment (ASR), Headquarters Philippine Army showcased its capabilities during the celebration of its 7th Founding Anniversary here today May 24, 2018.

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila- The Philippine Army Vice Commander Major General Robert M. Arevalo together with Department of National Defense Assistant Secretary for Human Resource Antonio L. Bautista, who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker, were present during the celebration of Army Signal Regiment, 7th Founding Anniversary here today May 24, 2018.

Highlights of the demonstration is the use of Blue Force Tracking System developed by the Army Signal Regiment as part of Situational Awareness Capability which uses a Global Positioning System in order to provide vital information. They also showcased the capabilities of its Mobile Command Center (MCC) 1 and Mobile Command Center (MCC) 2 which provides communication support to its supported units in all level of Army operations.

This communication capability upgrade like MCC 1 and MCC2 enables the commanders and planners see the battlefield with real-time picture in order to come up with comprehensive, accurate plans and timely decisions particularly during the conduct of Focused Military Operations (FMO) and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Operation (HADR).

Both equipments are capable of communicating through voice and data since it is equipped with Dipole and Aereal Antennas, Telephone Extender, Cignal Sattelite Dish Antenna, with uninterrupted power supply beneficial to the Philippine Army Operations Center including its Major Units , Armed Forces of the Philippines Command Center, Unified Commands and, its equivalent in the Philippine Navy and Philippine Airforce.

Major General Robert M. Arevalo, who stood in behalf of the Commanding General, Lieutenant General Rolando Joselito D. Bautista said that, “we can recall that the Army Signal Regiment (ASR) plays a vital role in equipping the troops with the latest systems on signal and communication which is helpful to the ground forces achieved the total liberation of Marawi city from the Daesh-inspired terrorist group”.
