Army commander in Northern Mindanao Retires
FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City– After reaching the age of mandatory retirement, Major General Victor Felix of the Army's 4th Infantry Division bowed out from the service in a simple change of command ceremony held in Camp Evangelista in Cagayan de Oro City on Tuesday, September 4.
Army chief Lt. Gen. Emmanuel T. Bautista presided the simple turn-over ceremony held at about 9 a.m.
Brigadier General Romeo L Gapuz, the Assistant Division Commander, temporarily assumed command while awaiting for the designation of the permanent commander.
A member of PMA Class of 1979, Felix, was the 34th Commander of the 4th ID.
He was the former Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil Military Operations, OJ7, Armed Forces of the Philippines before his designation as 4ID Commander.
A member of the PMA Class of 1981, Gapuz earned his first star on July 15, 2012 while serving as the 403rd Brigade Commander in Bukidnon.
