2 NPA supporters surrender in Mt Province, Leyte, yield firearms
A relative and diehard sympathizer of a New People's Army leader,
operating in the Municipality of Paracelis, Mountain Province
voluntarily surrendered with a firearm to the Army's 5th Infantry
Division troops at 1:20 p.m. on July 15.
Troops identified the surrenderor as Brandon Gaddaoan, a relative and
sympathizer of NPA leader Melito Tabaday alias Basbas of Komiteng
Larangan Gerilya South Central. Accordingly, Basbas was slain along time
ago.
Gaddaoan turned over an M14 rifle with two magazines and 12 ammunitions,
which was entrusted to him by Basbas. He is now undergoing custodial
debriefing.
Likewise in Leyte, a certain Moises Rapada voluntarily surrendered with
a firearm to PFC Julius C Carbo of the Army's 8th Infantry Division at 4
a.m. on July 14.
Rapada was identified as an NPA supporter of Section Committee Northern
Luzon Front. He surrendered with his a calibre 30 M1 Garand rifle and a
clip for M1 Garand ammunitions.
He is now undergoing custodial
