20,000 people to join Peace Rally
More or less 20,000 people are expected to participate in the Prayer for
Peace Rally in celebration of the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary at
the Headquarters Philippine Army Parade Ground at Fort Bonifacio, Metro
Manila on September 8.
With the theme, "Maka-Diyos na Kawal at Sambayanan, Panalangin ay
Kapayapaan," the Philippine Army’s prayer for peace rally will be
participated by various sectors of society including the youth, academe,
business, workers, and the religious sector among others.
Earlier, the Philippine Army hosted a lunch and acquaintance gathering
at the Philippine Army Officers Club House at Fort Bonifacio, Metro
Manila on Aug 30. Representatives from the religious, private and
government sectors, and school administrators who will participate in
the September 8 celebration were welcomed by Army chief Lt Gen Delfin N
Bangit. As a prelude to the September 8 activity, a poster making
contest participated by different schools has also been conducted.
Entries submitted shall be displayed at the Entrance of the HPA, and the
winning entries will be part of the Philippine Army exhibit. A Daily
Novena to Blessed Virgin is also being conducted at St Michael Chapel in
Fort Bonifacio.
Meanwhile, many activities in celebration of the Birthday of the Blessed
Mother are lined up on September 8. The morning activities shall include
a Dawn Procession, Mass Cenacle Symposium, and Marian Film Showing. The
afternoon events, on the other hand, will include a Silent Drill of the
Women Auxiliary Corps of the Philippine Army and the Philippine Air
Force and a Cultural Presentation by the participating schools and
various organizations; the Arrival of Mama Mary; Benediction; Living
Rosary; and a Concelebrated Eucharist/Mass. Various booths will also be
set up to cater to the needs of the participants.
The activity will be replicated and simultaneously conducted in all
Infantry Divisions Headquarters of the Philippine Army nationwide. The
Army chief encourages all stakeholders to participate in this religious
activity and join the whole nation in this call for peace.
