Official Philippine Army Press Release

Press Release No.: 03-001

Date Released: 06 Nov 2009

Army welcomes new AJA

This morning, November 6, Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Irineo C. Espino leads the Change of Chief of Office Ceremony of the Army Judge Advocate (AJA) in the Headquarters Philippine Army Conference Room in Fort Bonifacio , Metro Manila. Taking Col. Gilberto Jose C. Roa’s post as AJA is Col. Marian C. Aleido.

With Col. Roa’s designation as the new The Judge Advocate General (TJAG) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Command expects Col. Aleido to continue the outstanding efforts the outgoing AJA has shown during his term of more than five years as Col. Aleido was the Deputy to TJAG of AFP before she is designated as AJA. Also, Col. Aleido proves to be a worthy successor to the post as she is a BAR passer and has been a legal officer to various offices of AFP.

The Army Judge Advocate is responsible for providing professional legal support to the Philippine Army throughout the range of military operations. Another role of AJA is to promote the legitimacy of the Philippine Army operations to all the citizens of the country.

As servants of the Filipino citizens, the Philippine Army Command shall continue to find the best leaders to continue its successful operations in fulfillment of the AFP mission.#
