Official Philippine Army Press Release

Press Release No.: 03-007

Date Released: 10 Nov 2009

Army Chief recognizes 6ID

Yesterday, November 9, Army Chief Lt. Gen. Delfin N. Bangit led the 22nd Founding Anniversary of the 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division (6ID) at Camp Siongco Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. During the celebration, the Army Chief spearheaded different activities that prove 6ID's contribution to the success the Philippine Army has been having.

Three ceremonies were conducted during the celebration of the 22nd Anniversary of 6ID-an on-the-spot promotion, an enlistment of a CAA, and a ceremonial cutting of firearms. For his outstanding deeds as a member of the Infantry Division, Pvt. Ransey W. Ruado was promoted to the rank of "Private First Class (Pfc)." As one of the Infantry Divisions operating the southern parts of the country, 6ID is most especially in need of valiant soldiers such as Pfc. Ruado and the Army Chief never forgets to recognize them.

Another recognition of patriotism was spearheaded by Lt. Gen. Bangit as CAA Jonan G. Bartolome took his formal oath as a regular member of the Philippine Army under 6ID. Sharing the same love for the country, the Army Chief never hesitates in welcoming outstanding individuals to the Philippine Army.

Lastly, the Army Chief also led the ceremonial cutting of more than a hundred firearms that were recovered by 6ID during their nation-building operations. The ceremonial cutting is one of the programs initiated by the Philippine Army's Captured, Confiscated, Recovered and Surrendered Firearms that aims at demilitarizing the rebels.

Proving to be a very efficient Infantry Division that operates against rebel activities in Central Mindanao , 6ID received the ample commendation and recognition from the Army Chief, as he does the other Infantry Divisions. However, he reminded everyone that the fight is not yet done. With the coming of the 2010 deadline, he encourages everyone to contribute as the Philippine Army delivers the winning shots in this fight against insurgency.#
