AFP Chief visits the Philippine Army

Army chief MGen Arturo B Ortiz welcomed the Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines LtGen Ricardo A David during his visit at the Philippine Army Headquarters this afternoon.
The visit is part of the AFP Chief, LtGen David's effort to get acquainted with the AFP's major service units, its officers, and personnel, as he leads the Armed Forces of the Philippines in this crucial time. During his assumption as AFP Chief, LtGen David asked the officers and men of the Armed Forces to give their utmost dedication and commitment and always be subservient to civilian authorities that will make the military organization as a "decisive force for national pride."
Furthermore, LtGen David said that the AFP, under his watch, will fully support the peace talks to end the two-pronged insurgencies in the country but will not be complacent in stifling terror.
LtGen David espouses that as the AFP pushes to achieve our mission, the organization must carry out tasks with utmost respect to human rights. As an admirable leader, he puts the welfare of the soldiers on top of his priority list. He believes that looking after the needs of the men and women of his command and ensuring that they are receiving whatever is due to them are but a simple token of the organization's appreciation for their sacrifices for country and people.
The Philippine Army believes that AFP Chief LtGen David can effectively lead the 150,000-strong AFP men and women with his vast experience in professional military and government service, the most recent prior to his appointment as AFP Chief of Staff is as commander of the Northern Luzon Command (NOLCOM). The Philippine Army vows to support the AFP Chief and promised to complement his efforts in achieving the mission of the AFP. #
