Army Chief Ensures a More Responsive and Capable Army
FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - Army chief Lt Gen Delfin N Bangit
conferred with the General Staff Officers and key officers of the
Philippine Army yesterday, January 4, with the intention to analyze the
current situation of the Army organization and discuss programs and
measures for a more responsive, professional, and capable Army.
Speaking before the key officers of the Philippine Army, Lt Gen Bangit
once again reiterated the need to develop a sense of urgency as the
Philippine Army confronts the challenges that the year 2010 brings -
meeting the deadline of making insurgency insignificant - in addition to
its continuing mission to deliver lasting peace and development in the
country.
In its efforts to continuously train, equip, and organize the Army
organization, the Philippine Army has to keep pace with the redeployment
of its forces due to operational requirement and situational development
in some areas particularly in Southern Philippines. Several proactive
measures were undertaken by the Philippine Army to better address the
peace and security situation of the country which was proven to be
effective as the Philippine Army maintained a winning stance
particularly in the fight against insurgency.
To sustain the momentum this 2010, the Philippine Army’s efforts are
geared towards institutionalization of responsive support programs in
order to attain professional growth for a more capable and responsive
Army. #
