Army Honors BGEN Pirino
The Philippine Army led by its Commanding General Lt Gen Reynaldo B
Mapagu pays tribute to a senior Army officer who unselfishly served the
organization and the country, in a testimonial review to be held at the
Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand in Fort Bonifacio , Metro Manila
this afternoon.
After 30 years of invaluable service to the country and the people, BGen
Gominto B Pirino hangs his uniform as he retires from the military
service today. BGen Pirino had a colorful military career; his most
recent assignment being the Commander of the Army's 701st Brigade, 7th
Infantry Division. Prior to this, he was the acting commander of the
701st Brigade; commanding officer of TF Liwanag, 902nd Brigade, 9th
Infantry Division; and Group Commander of the 9th Regional Command
Defense Group (RCDG), Army Reserve Command.
BGen Pirino is also a recipient of various medals and commendations
including a Distinguished Service Star award.
Testimonial reviews have been a tradition of the Philippine Army as a
means of honoring and thanking its retiring personnel for the valuable
service to the country. # |
