Army Athletes to Join Independence Day Marathon
Fifty athletes from the Special Support Unit of the Philippine Army are
scheduled to join the Philippine Independence Day Marathon (PIDM)
organized by the Center for International Education (CIE) Global
Colleges at Fort Bonifacio Global City on June 12, 2010.
Aside from the 50 athletes, the Army will also commit 112 personnel to
join the opening ceremonies at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City, corner
of 8th Avenue and 28th Street. They will hold 112 Philippine flags to
signify the 112th Independence Anniversary.
PIDM is a non-profit endeavor whose vision is to institutionalize a
meaningful yearly celebration of the Philippine Independence that will
reinforce this great moment in our history, not just to know, but to
deepen our love for country, discover our true identity and our true
destiny. PIDM will not just be an ordinary marathon but a gathering of
patriots.
The Army's participation in this event will highlight its effort in
instilling patriotism and love of country to all Filipinos and at the
same time foster good relationship with other civilian and government
institutions. # |
