Army Honors Retiring Personnel
FORT ANDRES BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army will honor the
Commander of the AFP's Communications Electronics and Information
Systems Service (CEISS) in a testimonial review this afternoon after
serving the military for 35 years.
In appreciation for his invaluable service to the country and the
people, Army personnel led by its Commanding General MGEN Arturo B
Ortiz, will pay tribute to BGEN Ricardo B Butalid as he retires from the
military service on August 27.
BGEN Butalid had a colorful military career, his most recent assignment
being the Commander of CEISS AFP. As CEISS commander, BGEN Butalid
effectively led his men in accomplishing the office's mission of
providing communications, electronics and information systems services
and facilities for the effective, command, control and administration of
the AFP. The dedication and commitment of BGEN Butalid resulted to the
efficient delivery of effective and improved communication services for
the AFP.
BGEN Butalid also served as the Group Commander of Signal Group,
Philippine Army; Deputy Commander, CEISS, AFP; Chief of Staff, CEISS,
AFP; CEIS Officer, RP-US Military Exercise Balikatan 01; Commanding
Officer, AMIC, PA; and Battalion Commander 3SLL Battalion, CESAFP.
BGEN Butalid is also a recipient of various medals and commendations
including two Distinguished Service Star Awards.
A Testimonial Review is an observed military ceremonial tradition to
honor and thank retiring personnel for their valuable service to the
country and the people. #
