ARMY ARTILLERY REGIMENT MARKS 3RD FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY

HAAR, Fort Magsaysay , Nueva Ecija - The Army Artillery Regiment (AAR) of the Philippine Army celebrated yesterday its 3rd Founding Anniversary with the theme "Artilyeros: Kabalikat sa Kapayapaan Mula Noon Hanggang Ngayon". Present at the occasion was Commanding General of Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Reynaldo B. Mapagu who joined the men of AAR in marking their 3rd year in history after the unit's activation as a regiment back in 2007.

In his speech, Army Chief Lt. Gen. Mapagu congratulated the AAR for their persistent efforts in providing support to the Army for the past three years.

"I enjoin you in commemorating the success of Team AAR in the past three years since your unit’s activation as a regiment. The discipline, sacrifices and perseverance that each and every one of you endures are the reasons why you continuously reap great success and gains in our campaign to secure a peaceful and developed society for our fellow Filipino," said Lt. Gen. Mapagu.

Lt. Gen. Mapagu also acknowledged AAR's list of achievements and recognized how the regiment helped in securing and fulfilling the Army's mission in delivering lasting peace to the country and its people, and congratulated the AAR for their contributions to the successful elections.

Currently, the AAR is formulating a five-year organizational plan that will promote improvement to their unit. For year 2010, the unit is planning to upgrade the Headquarters Service Battery to Headquarters and Headquarters Service Battalion, renaming of Artillery Regiment Training Unit (ARTU) to Artillery Training Unit (ATU), and restructuring of Field Artillery (FA) battalions. All these are tailored to the approved organizational plan of the unit. #
