Army chief exhorts new officers to observe the chain of command

Army chief Lt Gen Reynaldo B Mapagu was the guest of honor and speaker at the graduation ceremony of the Officer Preparatory Course "Matawid" Class 57-10 held at the Officer Candidate School, Training and Doctrine Command in Camp O' Donnell Capas, Tarlac this morning.

Speaking before the 29 new sets of officers, the Army chief exhorted them to always observe the chain of command.

"I encourage you to abide by our command guidance and other policies in force. Always observe the chain of command. Keep this sacred and unbroken so that we can serve and protect our fellow Filipinos well," said Lt Gen Mapagu.

Lt Gen Mapagu commended the efforts of MGen Rey Sealana, commander of TRADOC , PA , as well as the training staff of the Officer Candidate School .

"Indeed, the professional training program as envisioned by MGen Sealana has started to reap positive effects in our conduct of the courses," said Lt Gen Mapagu.

The Army chief also emphasized the important role that these young graduates are going to play as they take on the noble job of becoming Filipino soldiers.

"We expect only the best from you. Your graduation is a personal glory and major accomplishment in your young lives...As you report to your respective initial field assignments, you must prove your worth as officers, leaders and role models for our troop and our stakeholders. All the more, you must continually perform your duties the best way you can and give your best toward excellence in every endeavor," he further added.

For this year, the Philippine Army targets 60 candidates for the Officer Candidate Course (OCC) and 40 for the Officer Preparatory Course (OPC). #
