Unifiers Simultaneous Launching Of The Supplemental Milk Feeding Program In 3 Elementary Schools In Negros Occidental


BRGY BATO, SAGAY CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, The 62nd Infantry (Unifier) Battalion of the Army's 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Alberto C Desoyo together with his Civil-Military Operations Officer, 1Lt. Ruben S Ayroso, simultaneously launched the 12-Week Supplemental Milk Feeding Program in three elementary schools in Negros Occidental.

The Supplementary Milk Feeding Program was sponsored by the Social Security System (SSS) in coordination with 303rd Infantry (Brown Eagle) Brigade, Department of Education and the National Dairy Authority in cooperation with the Municipal Government of Toboso, Negros Occidental.

The total recipients of the said program were 700 selected malnourished pupils of three elementary schools located in Barangay General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental namely: General Luna Elementary School, Socorro Sy Estrada Elementary School in Sitio Maaswa and Hilario B Amparado Sr Elementary School in Sitio Burgos. These milk bars will be distributed to the pupils during recess time for three times a week for the period of 12 weeks.

The concerted effort of the sponsors of this undertaking aims to support the nutritional needs of the children in their growth. Milk bars are made up of cow’s milk and comes in four yummy flavors ube, buco pandan, chocolate and mango.

The feeding program will also be accompanied of scheduled lectures to be given by the representatives from Municipal Health Office and Municipal Social Welfare and Development of Toboso, Negros Occidental to the parents on proper nutrition and the rights of the children.

Pajarillo, Municipal Social Welfare Development Officer of Toboso; Mrs. Eva M. Libre, District Supervisor, Dep-Ed, District of Toboso; Mrs. Erlinda D. Lumanag, Principal I, Socorro Sy Estrada Elementary School; Mr. Joelito A. Balinguat, Head Teacher III, Hilario B Amprado Sr Elementary School; Mrs. Erlinda F. Vinas, Principal I, General Luna Elementary School; Hon. Arturo A. Taganile, Barangay Chairman, Barangay General Luna, Toboso, Negros Occidental.
