30th Commander, Army Support Command

           

        MAJOR GENERAL GLENN E CRUZ assumed the leadership of the Army Support Command (ASCOM) as the 30th Commander on 22 February 2020.  The mission of ASCOM is to provide proactive, integrated and sustained quality logistics support services to Philippine Army units in support to the Philippine Army’s mission.

          MAJOR GENERAL CRUZ was commissioned on 18 February 1990 at Philippine Military Academy. He is a proud member of PMA “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990. He started his Military Career as Platoon Leader and made his way to a Battalion Staff of 38th Infantry (We Clear) Battalion of 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division from 1991 to 1994.

       He held various Command Positions such as Company Commander of Charlie Company, 38th IB, Commanding Officer, Service Support Battalion of 9th Infantry (Spearhead) Division and Commanding Officer of GHQ Procurement Center, AFP Procurement Service before becoming the Deputy Commander, ASCOM.

      He took on equally important duties as resource managers such as Chief, MFO and Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4, both in 9th Infantry Division and Chief of Staff of the AFP Procurement Service. He also became the Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4, PA.

          Among his other major duties include: Chief of Revolving Fund 72-100 Branch, Service Branch, and Quartermaster Branch under Troop Organizational Support Division of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, OJ4 from 1998-2005. He was also designated as the Admin and Logistics Officer of the Office of the Commanding General, Philippine Army from 2005-2006 and later became the Assistant Head, Executive Assistant to CSAFP of the Office of the Chief of Staff, AFP from 2006-2008.       

A seasoned logistician, MAJOR GENERAL CRUZ is a graduate of various career and specialization schooling both local and abroad. He took Basic Airborne Course, Air to Ground Operation Course, Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, Joint & Combined Operations Planning Course, General Staff Course at AFP Command & General Staff College and Senior Executive Course on National Security at National Defense College Philippines. His foreign course includes Combined Logistics Officer Advance Course at Army Logistics Management College, Fort Lee, Virginia, USA. He also attended various trainings and seminars related to Procurement, Defense Resource Management and ISO Quality Management System. He holds a Master’s Degree in Management Major in Public Administration from the Philippine Christian University.

         As a testament to his exemplary performance of duty, he is a recipient of several military awards and decorations which includes two (2) Distinguished Service Stars, one (1) Distinguish Service Medal, Long Service Medal, numerous Military Merit Medals, Military Commendation Medals, Military Civic Action Medal, Combat “Kagitingan” Badge with the degree of Platoon, Company and Battalion Commander, AFP Parachutist Badge and various Letters of Commendation and Recognition both from military and civilian sector.

             Born on 30 January 1967 in Marikina City, MAJOR GENERAL CRUZ is happily married to Mrs Anna Liza Ferrer Cruz from Las Piñas City. They are blessed with three sons; Gian Angelo, Antonio Gabriel, Gino Armando, and one daughter Guia Antionette.
