ASCOM’s AIMS for SERV Updated

photo4 FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Army Support Command, Philippine Army, through the Service Support Training School and in coordination with OG3, OG6 and OG8, conducted a 5-day ASCOM Inventory Management System for Supply, Electronics, Recording and Viewing or AIMS FOR SERV database uploading training at its Headquarters at Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila last September 26, 2016.

The training was attended by 41 participants composed of 10 Officers and 31 soldiers coming from the different Forward Service Support Units, Ammunition and Armaments Battalion of the Logistics Support Group, Explosive and Ordnance Disposal Battalion and other ASCOM Post Units. These participants are the designated computer operators and system administrators of AIMS FOR SERV.

The objective of the activity is to train more the operators and system administrators on the proper procedures of data uploading on the new program being introduced by the system developer under the tutelage of Mr. Bienvenido F. Orillano Jr, Head, Strategic Communication Committee of the Command’s Multi-Sector Advisory Board (MSAB).

After the training, the Command was able to successfully upload the following supplies: Signal items, Ordnance, Quarter Master, Petroleum Oil and Lubricants (POL), and Medical and Dental supplies.

Each database will be incorporated into additional inventory management system on which features shall be designed according to the items and stocks being handled and monitored.

In order to test its effectiveness, a system simulation was conducted on the last day of the training to further ensure that all data that were uploaded and transferred from one unit to another unit was successfully done.
