The Army Support Command (ASCOM) thru its operating arm the 1st Logistics Support Group (1LSG) stationed in Fort Andres Bonifacio, Taguig has committed 19 military trucks for the immediate distribution of relief food packs/items donated by the Asian Development Bank in coordination with HPA and DSWD to those affected by the Covid-19 during the height of the government’s implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 virus. The beneficiaries of the distributions were some barangays of Metro Manila.

The efforts of the Command on the relief distribution in collaboration with key stakeholders has helped many, especially our fellow citizens who are among the poorest of the poor. It is also noted that this has prevented people from going out of their houses due to lack of food supply.

Beneficiaries of the Libreng Sakay also include frontliners in the medical field, regular workers and persons with health concerns such as elderly, pregnant women, and sick persons going to and from the nearby treatment facilities.
