6ID celebrates 31st founding anniversary

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division celebrated its 31st founding anniversary on October 24, 2018 at the Grandstand, Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao with the theme:

“Sulong Kampilan, Tatlumpo’t-isang Taon Ninyong Kaagapay Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran ng Sentral Mindanao.”

Defense Secretary Delfin N.Lorenzana was the Guest of Honor and Speaker and he is accompanied by the Philippine Army, Commanding General, Major General Macairog S. Alberto. The celebration was capped with a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to honor the fallen heroes who served the Division. Moreover, a ceremonial demilitarization of captured, confiscated, surrendered and recovered firearms was conducted to highlight the Division’s effort and accomplishments in addressing peace and order within its area of responsibility.

Another highlight of the event is the conferment of awards to deserving personnel of the Command. Among these are Gold Cross Medals, Silver Cross Medals, Bronze Cross Medals, and Military Merit Medals. There was also an awarding of Streamer and Plaque of Recognition for the Best Brigade, Battalion and Company. On the other hand, Plaque of Recognition was also given to Best Officer, Enlisted Personnel, CAFGU Active Auxiliary, and Civilian Employee.

As tribute to various civilian individuals and groups who in one way or the other helped and contributed to the accomplishment of its mission, the Command also took the opportunity to bestow them with Plaques of Recognition.

Major General Alberto for his part, ensures that the he will do his very best to further improve and provide the needed support to the ground troops so that they can effectively perform their jobs. He likewise encouraged the Kampilan troopers to work with dignity and professionalism in support of the government thrust and goal towards achieving peace and development for the country.#
