FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - A simple ceremony for the change of Chief of Office for Assistant Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4 was held here today Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2019 at HPA Conference Room.

Col. Glenn E. Cruz was succeeded by Col. Rey B. Alemania in a ceremony presided by the Army Acting Chief of Staff, Brig. Gen. Jose C. Faustino Jr.

In his relinquishment speech, Col. Cruz expressed his gratitude to all the personnel of OG4. He said that the task was not easy but he was able accomplish it because of the strong support, competence and dedication of the team he had at the office. He encouraged everyone to continue work hard because the troops in the field largely depend on their support and policy actions.

On the other hand, upon receiving his new post, Col. Alemania said, “it is a great challenge for anyone in this position on how to synchronize logistics programs with financial resource execution and that’s what I’ve been tasked to do. This is where planning, programming, execution strategy, process and policy formulation, and evaluation will play important roles. Every staff needs to work hand-in-hand with commitment and responsibility in order for us to become a reliable provider. I understand it will not be that easy, but I am looking forward that it will be a little less difficult, with the support, cooperation and collegial atmosphere of this Conference Group.”

Col. Alemania is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Public Management Program. Prior to his current post he was the Deputy of the Office of the Army Finance Management. He has been the Commanding Officer of four different battalions from 2005 to 2014. In 2015 he became the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations at the Mechanized Infantry Division.

In his message, the Chief of Staff both recognized the two principals for their passion and respective achievements. He said that the Philippine Army Logistics plays an important role in the planning and execution of the Army Modernization program. Ensuring the success of the programs has a huge impact in the attainment of the Army Transformation which is geared towards becoming world-class by 2028. ###
