FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - Delegates from the United States National Defense University College of International Security Affairs (US NDU-CISA) met with the Philippine Army (PA) Senior Officers to discuss the Army's counterinsurgency efforts here yesterday, August 8.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Macairog S. Alberto welcomed the delegates who aim to coordinate a Mobile Education and Training in the Philippines next year through their three-day visit that started last August 7.

During the courtesy call, Chair of Department of War and Conflict Studies, CISA, Dr. Kirklin J. Bateman, recognized the effective results of the Army's civil-military operations through the whole-of-nation approach that addresses the root causes of insurgency in the country.

Alberto and the other PA senior officers also shared additional insights on the command's experiences on issues pertaining to drug-funded terrorism and efforts on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.

"The Philippine Army's engagement with its other stakeholders strengthens not only the relationship of both parties, but also supports the bigger picture of combatting terrorism and attaining peace by developing solutions as created by the two countries' shared knowledge and experiences", said Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala, the Army spokesperson. #
