San Jose residents receive relief packs from Landers, Army

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Residents from Brgy. San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal received the relief packs from Landers Superstore and Philippine Army yesterday, March 28, 2020.

With the assistance from Philippine Army personnel, Philippine National Police personnel, barangay officials and civilian volunteers, the donations from Landers Superstore through the initiative of 2Lt. Matteo Guidicelli (Reserve) were transported and repacked for distribution at the Brgy Hall of Brgy San Jose. The relief packs were then distributed by the personnel from 23rd Division Reconnaissance Company, 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army; Police Officers from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4A and Barangay officials and volunteer residents from Brgy. San Jose, Rodriguez, Rizal.

The relief packs distribution is in line with the collaborative efforts of 2Lt. Guidicelli and Landers Superstore in extending assistance to the affected families of Metro Manila in the duration of the enhanced community quarantine period. Through Guidicelli’s online fundraising concert “One Voice Pilipinas”, they were able to raise an amount of Php 4.8 Million which will be picked-up, transported, repacked and distributed in three sets.

“The Philippine Army is always ready to assist stakeholders who will provide the needed services to the communities”, Col. Ramon P. Zagala, Spokesperson of the Philippine Army said.

“We would also like to extend our gratitude to Lieutenant Guidicelli for his noble initiative, time and effort in generating donations to be distributed to the needy Filipinos, “ Zagala added.
