FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Commanding General, Philippine Army leads the reception and send-off ceremony of 453 new second lieutenants today, May 26 at the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command, Camp O’Donnell, Capaz, Tarlac.
The newly-commissioned lieutenants, composed of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2020, Officer Preparatory Course (OPC) Class 71-2019, and Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Class 53-2020 will be deployed to various units of the Army and will lead in the frontlines against the communist NPA terrorists, the Abu Sayyaf Group, and other security threats.
“To the new lieutenants of the Army, you have just completed your commissioning courses, but contrary to most of you may think, your training has not ended,” said Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay, the Army Commanding General.
“We cannot be complacent. The nation expects so much from us. We have to win, and you must learn more and lead well to win,” added Gapay. #
