FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) led the celebration of the 9th Infantry “Spear” Division's 16th Founding Anniversary today, October 1, 2020 at Camp Elias Angeles, San Jose, Pili, Camarines Sur.
Lt. Gen. Cirilito E. Sobejana also commended the unit for its successful operations against Communist Terrorist Groups (CTG), as well as its initiatives in improving the morale and welfare of its personnel.
The Spear Division is responsible for keeping the peace in the Bicol region, evident in the clearing of three guerilla fronts, neutralization of 61 enemy personalities, and recovery of 108 firearms in total.
"Being the pride of the Army in Bicolandia, keep your momentum and continue to involve the greater society to defeat terrorism and bring further peace and development in the region," remarked Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
"While the spear is a weapon that destroys, it also protects. You are SPEAR-Shielding People from the Enemy's Atrocity and Repression, and that is worth the celebration," he added.#
