Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila – A new Assistant Chief of Staff for Command and Control, Communications, and Cyber Systems (G6) took post here today, Oct. 14, 2020.
Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Rowen Tolentino presided the change of office ceremony between the outgoing chief Col. Mark Edwin Moro and the incoming chief, Col. Patriarch Robinson Pel.
Prior to his new post, Col. Pel served as the Director of the Command and Control Center (Provisional) of the Training and Doctrine Command. He holds a Master’s Degree in National Security Administration as well as in Public Management Major in Development Security. He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992.
On the other hand, under Col. Moro’s stint, the G6 was able to strengthen the Army’s cyber and signal capabilities by enabling policies on Information System Strategic Plan 2021-2023, operationalization of the Blue Force Tracking System, implementation of Military Personnel Information System 3.0, and the PA Management Information System. More so, the office provided support to the ground forces through the operationalization of the Forward Signal Repair and Training Center at Camp Enrile, Malagutay, Zamboanga and the activation of three Cyber Security Incident Response Teams in the 1st , 3rd and 5th Infantry Divisions. The G6 also played a significant role in the Army’s COVID-19 sustainment operations through the Telemedicine Website and Information System. Col. Moro is set to assume as the next Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, Electronics and Information Systems Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. Moro is a member of the PMA “Sambisig” Class of 1991.

Remember that your role is vital to accomplish the Organization’s thrusts to capacitate forces; intensify stakeholder engagement; sustain good governance, and uplift the morale and welfare of the personnel,” said Maj.
